Why a holistic approach to hormone balancing

The Ultimate Guide to Thriving in the Menopause

Women’s hormones are truly miraculous – they are our superpower if you will – and they respond beautifully to a gentle approach.  But they are also extremely delicate and the slightest upset can cause an imbalance that has ripple effects not only across the entire endocrine system but also across our relationships, work, mood, energy, weight and sleep.  That is why it is imperative to have a holistic approach to hormone balancing.

When I first started out I had a general homeopathic practice and whilst I love the diversity that type of practice has to offer, one thing continued to bug me.

I increasingly saw women come in with a host of different problems all saying the same thing: “The doctors can’t do anything to help, they have offered me the pill/HRT/antidepressants but I really don’t want to take them”.

Don’t get me wrong, this is not an attack on doctors or the use of medications.  And I wholeheartedly believe in the NHS and the amazing job they do bearing in mind how woefully under-funded they are.

However, I do question how one can get the best quality of care when the average GP appointment time is less than 10 minutes.  When medical school does not include any nutritional training.  And when pharmaceutical industries have such a huge influence in medical education, training and general care.

But I digress!

Medications are, for the most part, not a solution for period irregularities, peri-menopausal symptoms, weight gain, digestive disturbances, acne, weakened pelvic floor, thinning hair, anxiety, energy or sleep issues.  Often these symptoms are indicating a hormonal imbalance.

When time is taken to understand what is really going on for a person, to offer the space for someone to be heard, to take the time to piece everything together, looking at root causes rather than just prescribing a medication on each symptom, real and lasting change can happen.

Working holistically means:

  • Looking for root causes
  • Considering the whole person on a mental, emotional and physical level
  • Individualising treatment plans
  • Bringing together all symptoms as a whole rather than looking at each symptom individually

Whilst homeopathy can do a lot to help, and in many cases alleviate symptoms altogether, I feel that lifestyle changes and nutritional knowledge are crucial to sustained hormonal health.  This is why I have created a programme combining homeopathy, nutrition and health coaching giving you the knowledge and skills to maintain hormonal health now and into the future.

I am super excited to share my programmes with you.  So if you are reading this and thinking you would like to find out more, why not book a free discovery call today.
